Procedure to conduct Engine oil consumption trials in Tractor.
I. Tools and Equipments required.
a. Measuring jar 500ml/1000ml capacity with graduation of 10/20ml.
b. Digital thermometer with suitable probe
c. Non-contact tachometer – digital
d. Funnel
e. Portable Electronic weighing machine (preferred if available)
f. Suitable Bucket/ oil pan for draining engine oil
g. Recommended Engine oil.
h. Stem pipe (oil level pipe to be fitted in the sump in place of the drain plug – follow Procedure 2)
II. Procedure 1:
1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
2. Check engine oil level and condition. If engine oil level is below minimum, top it up. If oil is due for change, please do the same.
3. Check air cleaner oil condition. If found dirty, clean and refill with fresh oil. Check hoses/connections for oil carry over and dust ingress.
4. Check FIP seals are intact/undisturbed
5. Check coolant level in the radiator and top it up if required. If coolant is due for change, get it changed.
6. Start the engine and allow it to run at fast idle (i.e.1000 RPM) for 10 minutes
7. Check Engine low idle and high idle speeds and note down. If speed do not corresponding to the specifications reset the same.
8. Check for external leakages (Engine oil/Fuel/Coolant), if noticed take appropriate corrective action.
9. Drain the engine oil completely – overnight parking & draining would be ideal.
10. If weighing machine is available, weigh the empty (Dry) weight of jar, funnel and bucket/oil pan and record the same.
11. Fill engine oil in jar up to level mark ( weigh if weighing machine is available).
12. Pour oil into the engine using funnel
13. Weigh the jar after pouring the oil in the engine.
14. Note down the weighments and quantity oil poured.
15. Repeat procedure 11 to 14 till level in the sump reaches ‘MAX’ mark on the dipstick. (Please note that it may take 10 minutes to oil settle down.) DO NOT OVER FILL.
16. Weigh the funnel after oil filling
17. Note down quantity of oil filled (in litres) and weight of the same is weighed.
18. Place the dipstick in position
19. Fill fuel in the tank full and mark the level
20. Fit the recommended implements to the used for trial.
21. Start the engine and move the Tractor to the test field.
22. Record No load Engine speed set and speed on load (during the trials).
23. Check engine coolant temperature and engine speed at interval of 15 minutes during the trial and record the same.
24. Preferred duration of test is – 20 hrs. with block of 4 hours each to ascertain oil consumption.
25. After completion of the trial park the tractor at the same location where it was checked earlier.
26. Check for any leakages
27. Fill diesel up to the mark on the tank. Note down the quantity filled in.
28. Drain the engine oil in the bucket/oil pan completely. (Over night parking and draining would be ideal or after engine cools down completely)
29. Weigh the bucket with oil and note down the weight. If weighing machine is not used measure the quantity oil drained with measuring jar.
30. Calculate the engine oil consumption with respect to fuel consumption.
II. Procedure 2:
1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
2. Check engine oil level and condition. If engine oil level is below minimum, top it up. If oil is due for change, please do the same.
3. Check aircleaner oil condition.
10. Fit stem pipe and remove the closing plug.
11. Pour engine oil until oil drops through stem pipe.
12. Wait until the excess oil above the stem pipe drains and close the plug.
13. Place the dipstick in position and check oil level (should be above minimum mark and not above maximum mark)
14. Fill fuel in the tank full and mark the level
15. Fit the recommended implements to the used for trial.
16. Start the engine and move the Tractor to the test field.
17. Record No load Engine speed set and speed on load (during the trials).
18. Check engine coolant temperature and engine speed at interval of 15 minutes during the trial and record the same.
19. Preferred duration of test is – 20 hrs. with block of 4 hours each to ascertain oil consumption.
20. After completion of the trial park the tractor at the same location where it was checked earlier.
21. Check for any leakages
22. Fill diesel up to the mark on the tank. Note down the quantity filled in.
23. After parking overnight or engine completely cool down unscrew the closing plug of the sump pipe.
24. Place the calibrated jar below the sump drain plug.
25. Pour measure quantity of engine oil through filler pipe until oil drops through stem pipe and wait until excess oil drains.
26. Calculate the oil consumed – measured quantity of oil poured minus oil drained through the stem pipe in the jar.
27. Calculate the engine oil consumption with respect to fuel consumption.

The content you have provided is pretty interesting and useful and I will surely take note of the point you have made in the blog.
A few days back I was browsing the Internet as I was worried about my car performance and wanted a product that could restore the MPG to what it was when I bought my car. I found this great site power enhancer which sells a variety of automotive products to boost vehicle performance. I found exactly what I was looking for and saw great results with their product. I was also very happy with the quick delivery of the product.
I thought this information might be useful for anyone looking to boost their vehicle performance and restore the lost power and MPG
